499 Van Brunt Street

Landscapes, cityscapes, dreamscapes – Summerscapes -whatever escapes from the imaginations of over 200 local artists is exhibited in the upstairs gallery. Downstairs: Black & White and well more than fifty shades of gray, 81 pieces in all media some monumental in size, from artists all around the country. The show was juried by Christiane Paul of the Whitney Museum of American Art. Special Performances in our BWAC Lounge: Saturday, August 22 4PM – The Word Cabaret is a new Saturday afternoon reading series that aims to celebrate and savor the wondrous variety of Brooklyn-based wordsmiths–storytellers, playwrights, essayists, novelists, comics, spoken word artists, and poets. This week, it’s Rising Surprises with a program on new writers. Sunday, August 23 at 4pm – Natassia Vertsel, aka Groosha, is a singer-songwriter and pianist from Belarus.
