Brooklyn Waterfront Artist’s Coalition presents the 2016 BWAC Fall Art Shows:

Closing weekend, Saturday October 15th and Sunday October 16th – 1:00pm to 6:00pm

The Fall Group Art Shows in BWAC’s funky Civil War-era warehouse gallery on Red Hook’s scenic pier are filled with 25,000sf of art in all mediums, in a wide variety of styles, and in four distinctly different exhibits:
Brooklyn is…. a narrative show of some 200 artists;
Art in Clay 4, exhibiting the power of clay to say almost anything;
the really, really Affordable Art Show, a juried show where really, really great bargains are to be found, and
Grand Installations – very different yet all dramatic installations interspersed throughout the galleries.
Multiple special events are planned for every single day of the show. It’s jam-packed with concerts in many music genres as well written word programs which aim to celebrate and savor the wondrous variety of local wordsmiths.

Dr. Ruth Richards, “New Routes To Creative Ideas”

Join Dr. Ruth Richards, professor, researcher, and writer on creativity (Editor of Everyday Creativity and New Views of Human Nature) for an illustrated talk to explore three key paths to creating. Best of all, we’ll hear from six amazing artists, all well known to BWAC: Evan Cordes, Anna Hagen, Judith Hooper, Russell Mehlman, John Strohbeen, and Tobi Zausner. They will do cameos and take part in a later Q and A with you and Dr. Richards to share the “real story.”

Final Day of Fall Performance Season

Sunday, October 16, 2:00 PM

Kermit Driscoll

Since 2004, bassist Kermit Driscoll had been making New Year’s resolutions to document his own music as a leader. He’s best known for his 1987-1996 tenure with guitarist Bill Frisell, but name it and Driscoll has played it: Broadway shows, classical, folk, rock, film and TV music, the exacting work of Ben Monder, John Hollenbeck, John Zorn and more. Now he’s fulfilled that promise to himself and released Reveille (19/8), his long-awaited debut. It features his friends Frisell and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, with new colleague Kris Davis on piano. Presented by the Jazz Foundation of America’s Gig Fund program, with support from NYSCA and the NEA.

Sunday, October 16, 4:00PM
