Brooklyn School Chess Team Fundraiser at STREB
Apr 7, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm| $25
On April 7, 2016, the powerhouse chess team of Brooklyn’s Intermediate School 318, which has dominated the national middle school chess championships for over a decade and was the subject of the award-winning documentary “Brooklyn Castle”, will join forces with the teams of P.S. 31 and P.S. 139 for a fundraiser at STREB in Williamsburg. Every ticket purchased will support the teams and will help them travel to national tournaments throughout the year, including upcoming championships in Indianapolis, Chicago and Nashville.
STREB was founded by choreographer Elizabeth Streb who combines extreme action, daredevil acrobatics and experimental dance to produce innovative and boundary-pushing works, performed by her Action Heroes who literally fly through the air. The fundraiser includes the performance of STREB’s new show “SEA”.
