Brooklyn Hosts Author of Satiric Zombie Novel
Feb 13, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm| FREE
Adam Lewis Schroeder’s newest novel, All-Day Breakfast (Douglas & McIntyre 2015), melds humor, horror and lots of zombie action. He will be at The BookMark Shoppe (8415 Third Avenue) in Brooklyn on February 13 starting at 4pm, talking, rapping and signing his new book—just in time for Valentine’s Day.
In All Day Breakfast, after Peter, a substitute teacher, and his students get sprayed with mysterious pink goo during a field trip, weird things start to happen to them: short-temperedness, B.O. that smells like sawdust, forgetting how to read, limbs that keep falling off and plummeting empathy for human suffering, especially if anyone gets between them and their unstoppable craving for…bacon.
With the custody of his children at risk, Peter races across the country in a stolen ambulance to face down pinstriped bureaucrats, affectionate farm girls and monsters plucked from mythology in his search for the cure—if it exists—to his horrifying condition. All-Day Breakfast is an irreverent romp through the American heartland featuring a substitute-teacher-turned-zombie who is desperate to find the cure for his “undead” condition.
