Brooklyn Freedom Concert: Inauguration of Hope

On the eve of the Presidential Inauguration, the BROOKLYN FREEDOM CONCERT will present an evening of performance and art from across the spectrum inspired by the inclusivity and equality of all people. Hosted by Petra Fried, the evening will feature local musicians, new works by classical composers, instrumentalists, Brooklyn’s own Opera Cowgirls, and spoken word.
All proceeds go directly to the Audre Lorde Project and the Brooklyn Community Pride Center.
The Audre Lorde Project The organization concentrates on radical nonviolent activism around progressive issues within New York City, especially relating to queer and transgender communities, AIDS and HIVactivism, pro-immigrant activism, prison reform and organizing among youth of color. It is named for the lesbian-feminist poet and activist Audre Lorde and was founded in 1994. Learn more: http://alp.org
The Brooklyn Community Pride Center provides a safe, common space offering physical and mental health services, social support, recreational and cultural programming, as well as being a hub of information for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and families in Brooklyn.
