Katherine Bradford is a New York artist represented by Edward Thorp Gallery. Her work has also been shown in solo shows recently at Arts & Leisure Gallery, a project space of Freight & Volume in New York City and at Adams and Ollman in Portland, Oregon. Other recent solo shows include the Bowdoin College Museum of Art (2013), the University of Alabama (2014), Steven Harvey Fine Arts (2013) and Edward Thorp (2012).
Upcoming shows include “Long Story Short” at Trestle Gallery in April curated by Karin Bravin, “Back to the Future” in February at Life On Mars in Bushwick, “The Guston Effect” at Steven Zevitas in Boston in June, “20” x 16” at Morgan Lehman in March and “New Narratives” at Ten VanEyck in Brooklyn also in March. From 1997 to 2013 Bradford was on the MFA faculty at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. In 2009 she was a Resident Faculty at Skowhegan. In addition, she has been invited to teach at colleges such as Williams, Hunter, Maryland Institute of Art, RISD, and Rutgers. Bradford received a Guggenheim in 2011 and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Award in 2012. She has also received a
Pollock Krasner Grant and two awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York. Her work has been included in group shows at MoMA PS1, the Brooklyn Museum, Canada, Zeiher Smith, Freight&Volume and Dodge Gallery in New York as well as Vox Populi and University of the Arts in Philadelphia; the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover, Mass; the George Lawson Gallery (San Francisco), Samson Projects (Boston), and Zola
Leiberman (Chicago). She is also represented in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum and the Addison Gallery of Contemporary Art in Andover, Mass.
