How can sharing art change art? In this discussion Jeff Leung (Hong Kong Arts Centre) and Antonio Serna (Art & the Commons) will share their experiences with art projects focused on the sharing of art. Through these projects we will examine ideas of informal systems of exchange and reciprocity, the decentralized museum, along with some historical and contemporary notes on creating critical publics. We conclude with an open discussion on notion of ‘cultural sovereignty’ and what this might mean to communities across the world.

Art & The Commons is investigating ways in which art, culture, and art
education can be understood and developed as a shared resource.
