4/23 – Ask a Philosopher @ the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket

Do you sigh longingly on the supermarket checkout line, dreaming of deeper, more human engagement with your fellow Brooklynites? Does the thought of Socrates and his cohort philosophizing at the Athenian market fill you with nostalgia for a world where we could reason together in public about the questions that matter to us most? Do you, like so many Brooklynites, wonder: what, if anything, is a *just* price for locally grown, organic radicchio?

Then you’re in luck! Coming up on Saturday, April 23rd, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Brooklyn Public Philosophers is bringing our very first Ask a Philosopher booth to the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket. Gentrification, democracy, objectivity and bias in the news, religious tolerance, animal minds, the epistemological significance of the replication crisis in psychology – whatever philosophical questions are on your mind, we’re there to talk about them. Philosophers who think and write about love, the self, memory, the metaphysics of color, moral language, and a whole bunch of other things will be hanging out all day.

Stop by the booth and have a chat! It will be so much fun!
