11/3 – Brams and Schwartzberg on How (and with Whom) We Vote

It’s a Brooklyn Public Philosophers double header! Next Thursday, November 3rd, just in time for election day, Steven Brams and Melissa Schwartzberg will give two short talks about the philosophy of voting at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Dweck Center.

The details:

Who: Steven Brams (Professor of Politics at NYU, author of Mathematics and Democracy) and Melissa Schwartzberg (Professor of Politics at NYU, author of Counting the Many)

What: Brams will give a talk on alternative voting systems entitled “Is There a Better Way to Elect a President?” Schwartzberg will give a talk on sharing a democracy with people whose opinions you don’t respect entitled “Voting with Deplorables: How to Think About Our Fellow Citizens’ Judgment During and After Elections”. Audience discussion will follow.

When: Thursday, November 3rd at 7:00 P.M.

Where: The Dweck Center at the Brooklyn Public Library (10 Grand Army Plaza)
