See W. Kamau Bell and Kevin Avery prove Denzel Washington is the G.O.A.T at Union Hall Monday

He's already upset that you're trying to duck out of this.

You don’t know what love and fandom is until you create a whole podcast devoted to your favorite actor and review every movie they’ve ever been in. Comedians W. Kamau Bell of FX’s Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell and Kevin Avery, writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver know this kind of love with their podcast Denzel Washington is the Greatest Actor of All Time Period. And they’re bringing the podcast with the ridiculously long name to Brooklyn with a live recording at Union Hall on Monday May 11 at 9pm.

The bulk of the show has the two comedians reviewing Denzel’s discography from the stinkers lost in VHS purgatory (Heart Condition anyone?) to the classics (American Gangster, Glory, etc). This time around the funny men will be talking about the Spike Lee’s Inside Man, a role that tested Denzel’s negotiating and detective skills like none other. Will Kevin and Kamau talk to the sound engineers even though this is a live recording? Will Kevin do the whole podcast in the rabbit suit (what else would you expect from a writer of Thugs, the Musical?). You won’t know until you go. Tickets are $10.

This unabashed Denzealot, what fans of the show call themselves, is super pumped. If there’s any downside to this event is that it’s mixed seating/standing. If Union Hall is anything like The Knitting Factory if you don’t get there an hour before the show starts you’re going to be standing which in retrospect might be a small price to pay for a night of laughs.
