Come to our Boggle night/holiday hang!

This Thursday, (Dec. 17), the Brokelyn staff will be gathering at The Sackett in Park Slope to play Boggle, as well as all the other stuff you do at bars at holiday parties. We look forward to $3 Negra Modelos and a $4 “Brokelyn Mystery Cocktail” TBA, along with happy hour prices (a buck off any other drink), at least until 8. Perhaps you remember the Connect Four Tournament at the Bell House? In the honor of the holiday spirit, this will just be rounds of friendly play. (If I notice that I’m winning a lot, however, I might “start a bracket”—I  have a lot of self-confidence to rebuild.) Boggle or no Boggle, The Sackett is a great new little bar to find yourself in.

Owners and partners-in-life Ann, a former marketing director of City Magazine, and Michael, a city planner by day (and former record buyer and store owner) stumbled across the space in May.  Back then it was not so welcoming, but Michael and Ann knew they could do right by it. Great prices plus quality tap beers plus a friendly, welcoming vibe equals Brokelyn’s favorite new hang. And if Thursday night is a hit, Boggle Night might very well become a regular thing. So check out the official invite on our Facebook page, and please RSVP. It’s not required, of course, but if I know who’s coming, it will be easier for me to decide what to wear.

From 7 to 10 at The Sackett, 661 Sackett St., between Fourth and Fifth Aves, Park Slope. One block from the N/R/M at Union. (And walkable from all those trains at Atlantic/Pacific). Happy holidays!

  1. Steve0, many studies show that playing word games for three hours helps stretch your brain into top limber shape for exams. Saturating your brain with beer helps too. [citation needed]
