Today is a big day, not just because it officially marks the day we emerge from February. As we’ve gone over, this was also the day Fairway rose from the ashes, and they had a party to celebrate. But they’re not the only business getting up off the mat and flipping Sandy off. If you’ve been feeling the pull for lobster and wine, well then Red Hook should be your destination today.

Both the Red Hook Lobster Pound (284 Van Brunt Street) and Red Hook Winery (175 Van Dyke Street) are making their triumphant returns today, and we can only hope the giant crowds at Fairway will stop in for a lobster roll or a bottle. Even as a website devoted to the cheaper things in life, we can’t really deny how goddamn tasty a lobster roll is. When we win the lottery, it’s what we’ll eat exclusively. If you can get down to the Red Hook Winery today, they’re doing tastings for $5, tours and raffles with prizes like dinner for 6 at the winery. So either sneak out of work early, or loudly shame your boss by saying you’re leaving early “to pay tribute to the good people of Red Hook.”
