Go back to your roots. via Facebook

Wow, it was like, 60 degrees yesterday. Perfect weather for a bike ride, huh? What’s that? You don’t have a bike? And you missed out on Ride Brooklyn’s sale last week? You guys! Well, that’s okay, because you’ve got another chance to pick up a cheap bike, because Crown Heights’ Bicycle Roots is selling bikes (and helmets) at steep discounts on Saturday and Sunday.

This weekend, March 14 and 15, Bicycle Roots will be offering 20% to 50% off of a range of bikes over $500, with one getting down to as cheap as $297 according to the list on the Bicycle Roots website. Also, so that you can protect your skull from breaking on the hard concrete in the event something bad happens, every helmet in the store is at least 20% off, with a few even going for 50% off. We know, you think you look cool without a helmet, but you know what isn’t cool? A concussion, which is the least of your worries if you fall off your bike and hit your head. You can also pick up some winter clothing, for next year’s terrible winter, for 50% off.  So go, get a bike, because if all of your friends ride down to Fort Tilden this summer and you have to take the bus alone, you’re gonna be upset.
