BK Top 5: The best things to do tonight, from laughing at jumpsuits to celebrating protest music

Welcome to Wednesday, the fulcrum of your week. If you’ve been having a bad one, here’s your chance to really turn things around and make it a good week. STEVEDORE’S JUMPSUIT COMEDY
Are jumpsuits inherently funny? I’ll say yes, due to their impracticality in every day use and the fact that they’re completely out of style. Stevedore Comedy is already pretty funny, so that means a show where the hosts insist on wearing jumpsuits the entire time is going to be doubly funny.

RACHEL GLASER PRESENTS PAULINA AND FRAN WITH ADAM WILSON
What are some subjects you can really relate to around here? How about things like friendship, sex and art? People usually seem wrapped up in at least two of those three things in Brooklyn. Now we throw a wrinkle in: what about curly hair? If you can relate to all those three AND curly hair, Rachel Glaser’s book release party tonight is for you, because the story it tell is about all of those things.

TASTE MAKERS A FOOD EXHIBIT
“That art looks so good I could eat it!” isn’t a phrase you hear too often, but tonight you’ve got a chance to. That’s because tonight, the Court Tree Collective opens their exhibit that’s all about artists who’ve depicted food in their work. Even better, there’s free food after you’re done looking at all the pictures, so you don’t have to worry about getting yourself in trouble due to eating the art itself.

IF A SONG COULD BE FREEDOM 7″ RELEASE AND CLOSING PARTY
Interference Archive’s exhibition on resistance songs is coming to an end, like all things do, but this closing party has a twist. Instead of only beer and chatting and getting a last look at the art, you can also hear a 7″ made specially for the exhibit, which has a pro-union Appalachian folk ballad, a Kurdish version of “The Internationale” and more progressive songs.

BROOKLYN SUMMER CAMP COMEDY SHOW
Comedy from people like John Bilancini, Max Fox and Kelly McInerney is already pointing towards a pretty good time. Then you add in the fact that it’s free and then you add in the fact that the show comes with free pizza and man oh man, you’ve got quite an evening of merriment and full stomachs ahead of you.
