Park Slope/ Prospect Heights Shopping

A new discount card for Slope shoppers’ wallets

Fifth Ave: such a happy little street

Those businesses on Fifth Ave in Park Slope sure love to stick together: Their windows are adorned with “shop locally” stickers, they offered a spending spree raffle in January, and now they’re hoping to inspire even more loyalty to the retail corridor with the Park Slope Fifth Avenue Discount Card. While the “card” appears to be nothing more than an image you can download from the site, it’s good for discounts at 27 restaurants, shops and assorted purveyors of bric-a-brac, (with more on the way, they say). We highlighted a few of the best below:

50 percent off Milan Optique

15 percent off a case of wine at Sterling Grapes & Grains

20 percent off dinner at Baluchi’s (Monday-Thursday only)

10 percent off at Melt

Free drink with 1 lb of coffee at Ozzie’s; 50 percent off grinder with 2 lb purchase

See the full list here, and check back because the Fifth Ave BID says it will be adding businesses frequently.

actually, participating merchants will have real cards when you visit them. It looks sort of like a business card with the BID logo on it. Sorry for any confusion.
