Summer is all around us, from the jorts-friendly weather outside to the many free concert and movie schedules coming out almost faster than we can keep up with. Let’s throw another one on the pile though, because you can never have enough free outdoor movies in a summer, and this year’s SummerScreen schedule is as excellent as usual. Every Wednesday from July 8 to August 12,  you’ll be able to sit and watch a totally free movie at the concrete ballfields in McCarren Park (North 12th Street and Bedford Avenue). After this winter, you’ve earned that right, so let’s check out what your reward will be:

July 8: Clueless
July 15:
Wet Hot American Summer
July 22: Dirty Dancing
July 29: Dazed and Confused
August 5: Jurassic Park
August 12: Audience Pick

As always, there’ll be plenty of food trucks there too so that you don’t go hungry while watching the movies, as well as pre-show concerts from awesome local acts that make showing up when doors open at 6pm worth it. The choices for the audience pick aren’t out yet, but last year’s didn’t have a dud in the bunch, so we’re confident the choices given to us will provide more debate and electoral excitement than the 2016 Republican primary. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have to go hump the fridge.
